{ Ashley + Mike – E Sess }

Ok, as you can see, Ashley and Mike are not only super cute, but super hilarious as well. I had a blast shooting these two, as it felt like a hang out with old friends. We encountered a bat, a silly pooch (their’s) and lots of goofy jokes and faces. Gotta love it! Mike is also a photographer, of Mike Pianka Photography, so it always is a very nice compliment to be asked to photograph another creative’s photos! Maybe a little nerve-wracking too! Enjoy the images!

{ Amanda + Mike }

Amanda and Mike are married! Ok, so there’s a bit of history with me and this bride! I’ve actually known Amanda since 2002. We went to school for photography and met at college. It’s pretty cool that all of these years later, we still keep in touch! I was so happy to hear that she had met Mike and was planning her wedding in Punta Cana. It was a lovely opportunity to not only see her get married, but take some photos as well! I’m so happy for both of them! And who’s to complain about a lovely backdrop with it’s blue skies, warm sun, palm trees (my fave!) and teal waves. Congratulations Amanda + Mike!

{ Kyla + Jason’s Viva Las Vegas Wedding! }

WELL, where to begin with this one!! I have known Jason for many years and thankfully Kyla once the two of them starting dating. They are those friends I wish still lived in Thunder Bay! I have always felt a connection to these two, I think because their easy going attitude and love reminds me of the relationship I have with my husband. Regardless, it was always kind of a thing that every time I would see them at a friends wedding, I would take a photo of them. As the years went on it was mentioned that the day they got married, it would be in Vegas, and I was to be there to photograph the event. Of course, when the two of them got engaged, I was super pumped when the plan fell into place! My ultimate dream to photograph in the Neon Museum came true when Kyla + Jason agreed that we MUST shoot there. Honestly, it’s probably the coolest place in Vegas. I’m not really much for gambling or partying, but I am slightly obsessed with old signage, colour and the desert…so you can see that this place is the fuel to fuel my fire. The Neon Museum didn’t disappoint, and even though we had to get up super early to do a morning shoot there, the tiredness was forgotten when we got there!

So….what’s a wedding day without a bed jump!?

We then met both of their families on Freemont Street, an older neighbourhood of Vegas. Both of their families are so fun, it was wonderful to spend some time there being goofy, and drinking of out giant footballs (them, not me!). Then it was off to the chapel to see them get married by Elvis….WHAT!? Yeah, and he even walked Kyla down the aisle, while singing one of his famous songs. I love the quirkiness that Kyla + Jason possess. Nothing is too silly or ridiculous. Their whole theme of the wedding was FUN. And boy oh boy, was it ever! As they walked out of the chapel their family and friends cheered as their names were sprawled across a giant light up sign for all to see!

To end off the festivities before dinner, we stopped at the Las Vegas welcome sign, a classic that couldn’t be missed. Congratulations Kyla + Jason. Thank you for asking me to attend your wedding and capture some amazing moments! Viva Las Vegas!

{ Michelle + Tim }

On March Break weekend, Michelle + Tim got married! Seriously, how styling is this couple and Michelle is so photogenic! It made my job so easy and the wedding party was up for outside adventures, despite the freezing cold day! They got married in the LU chapel, which I have never been into…it’s gorgeous! All in all, a wonderful wedding day! I mean, come on! They had a snowball fight! (Don’t worry, no one got hit in the face!) Congratulations you two!

{ Laura + Mark }

I’m sure most couples, when having a winter wedding, hope for lightly falling snowflakes, balmy weather and sunshine. Laura + Mark (and the rest of the wedding party and I) did not expect a full on blizzard and ice cold temperatures! But that’s what we got a few weeks ago when they tied the knot. I honestly can’t thank the wedding party enough for going in and out of the cold and embracing (well…as best they could) the blowing snow blizzard that was upon us! Despite all of the crazy weather, I feel the snow definitely added to the day and the photos capture the SNOWMAGGEDON that was upon us! We started the photos early and the day ended with a early evening ceremony, which was so intimate and cozy and everything went right into dinner, speeches and dancing. What a great day to celebrate such a fun couple! Thanks guys for including me and congratulations!
